My name is Jessica Young, but “JY” stands for more than my name. Backed by 20+ years experience, and a genuine passion for design, I provide a product that is just yours. Design is my passion

I'm a freelance graphic designer located in Traverse City, Michigan. I used to work on national campaigns in the automotive and publishing industries, and now I put that same polish on small businesses, too. There isn't a design job I haven't done, and I pride myself on beautifully conveying visual messages through a smooth, engaging process with each and every client. Learn how I work >

From city to island to peninsula

The bulk of the work that is shown on my site was done in Hawaii, but my career began in Detroit, Michigan. From a busy, quality print shop to a large publishing company, I was promoted to senior art director. I eventually transitioned to working on the Chrysler Automotive account at InterOne. A break from work came with my relocation to Hawaii’s Big Island in 2003, where I began a family and spread new roots.

Rural island life didn’t include splashy agencies, but I applied my skills at the newspaper office, as a freelancer, and for a nonprofit K-12 school. I was voted best graphic designer in the North Hawaii News write-in readers' poll for five consecutive years.

Now located in Traverse City, Michigan, I work remotely as part of an excellent team with clients like Rain Bird, NBC Universal, High Point University, PGA, and many more. I've designed everything from business cards to billboards with passion, precision and joy!
